Plant Dye

After our visit to the Ikat factory, we headed over to our favourite dye factory in Gianyar, where our ‘Bliss’ collection is dyed naturally with plants.
The Indigo plant which is used to create our ocean shades
We love this process as it aligns with our ethical fashion values - to create with natural fabrics and a dying process with natural plant colours where possible.
mango leaves ready to be turned into our yellow ‘sand’ colour
We create the ‘Bliss’ natural dye collection with 3 plants - Indigo, Mango and Mahogany - these colours combine to make a range of hues. We use this blue, yellow and pink palette for our collection as we love to be inspired by our natural environment and these beautiful colours represent the turquoise crystal waters, sandy beaches and stunning sunsets we are so blessed to experience here in Bali.
Mahogany ready for our shade of ‘coral’ pink
We dye with an ombre effect which is to layer the dyes to create dark to light shading - dip dyed to show how the fabric has been submerged in the colour, with the remaining pigment and original fabric still apparent.

These rustic designs are harmonious with nature, the fabric is natural cotton, and the designs and cuts of the fabrics remain loose, with raw edges to maintain a earthy, organic quality to them.

We believe that fabrics should be created as part of the eco system, with little affect to the environment, and when the garment has completed its life cycle, should naturally return to the Earth where it came.
This collection represents the beauty of nature, the cycle of life, death and rebirth and our role as the caretakers of our planet.
